(2) the degree of running oil aging can be judged. The insulating oil in operation is affected by temperature, air, light, moisture, electric field and other factors. The oil quality will gradually deteriorate and deteriorate. After oil aging, various organic acids and other polar substances are formed, and the interfacial tension that affects oil will also gradually decrease. Therefore, measuring the interfacial tension of insulating oil in operation can determine the aging quality of oil. Practice shows that organic acid and oil sludge produced by oil aging are closely related to interfacial tension. In the state standard of "running transformer oil quality index", the operating index of interfacial tension is greater than 19mN/m., that is to say, if it is lower than this index, the oil sludge in the transformer may be discharged from oil sludge or unqualified acid value.
(3) because the interfacial tension is the sum of the hydrophilic polar molecules in the oil, all the additives belonging to this kind can reduce the interfacial tension of the oil one water, such as the addition of the antirust agent in the turbine oil, because the interfacial tension of the oil contains the carboxyl group as the amount of the oil is added, that is, the more the adding amount is, the faster the interfacial tension is reduced. The consumption of rust inhibitor in oil is judged by measuring the interfacial tension of oil. In addition, the operation of transformer thermosyphon can also be monitored by using interfacial tension. Generally speaking, if the thermosyphon operates normally, the adsorbent is not invalid, the pH value of the oil is greater than 4.6, the interfacial tension of the oil is about 30~40mN/m. If the thermosyphon fails, the interfacial tension of the oil will gradually decrease. This is because after the failure of the thermosyphon (mainly adsorbent), it can not absorb the aging products such as acid, alcohol and resin in time, which can reduce the interfacial tension of oil.
