The factors that affect the flash point of transformer insulating oil filter oil and its measurement methods are as follows

2018/5/15 Viewers:
1. the main factors that affect flash point of oil products are as follows.

(1) it is related to the distillate of oil. Generally speaking, the flash point increases with the increase of the fraction of Buddha point, and increases with the increase of the distillate pressure. On the contrary, it decreases. Usually, the flash point of heavy distillate is high, and the flash point of light distillate is low.
(2) related to the chemical composition of oil products, liquid petroleum products containing volatile components such as gasoline and kerosene are especially low flash points. On the contrary, if the oil is not easily selected, the flash point will be higher, for example, the flash point of turbine oil and cylinder oil is higher. The flash points of various hydrocarbons are also different, for example, the flash point of olefins is lower than that of alkanes, naphthenic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons. Generally, the flash point of low molecular hydrocarbon is lower than that of the same kind of high molecular hydrocarbon.

2. the determination method of flash point of oil is divided into closed cup method and open cup method.

The flash point method of oil should be divided into closed cup method and open cup method, mainly depending on the nature and use conditions of oil products. Usually, light oil products with high evaporation are determined by closed cup method. Because when the product is heated by a open cup method, the steam formed by the product is constantly diffused to the surrounding air, and the flash point is higher. But for most of the lubricants and heavy oils, especially under the condition of a non - closed or low temperature condition, a very small amount of lightweight admixture will evaporate during use, and will not constitute a danger of fire or explosion. So this kind of oil is determined by open cup method (such as turbine oil). In the specifications of some lubricating oils, there are two indexes of opening and closing flash point. The purpose is to check the width of the distillate of the lubricating oil and the light composition of the oil fraction by the difference of the opening and closing flash points. Some oils are used in closed containers. In the process of use, high temperatures are produced for various reasons, such as high speed, arc, current circuit breakage, etc., so that the oil may form a decomposition product or mistaken a light substance. These decomposed products or light components are evaporated in a closed container and mixed with air, causing danger of ignition or explosion. If we use the open cup method, we may not find the existence of light components which are easy to dry and evaporate, so we must use the closed cup method. There are electrical appliances such as transformer oil, switch oil, high speed machine oil and some aviation lubricants that belong to this kind of oil.
