As an insulating oil of liquid insulating medium, how to identify its insulation performance is usually determined by its breakdown voltage and dielectric loss factor. But the breakdown voltage and dielectric loss factor of the oil, to a great extent, depend on the pollution of the external water and other impurities, and can be removed by the means of purification. Therefore, in recent years, some advanced countries have taken the measurement of the volume electrogram of insulating oil as one of the important indicators to identify the insulation properties of oil, so as to evaluate the electrical properties of the insulating oil.
(1) the volume resistivity of transformer oil is of great significance in judging the insulation characteristics of transformer. The insulation resistivity of the pure new oil is very high. After installing the transformer, the insulation characteristics of the transformer are not affected. When the oil is dampened or mixed with other impurities, the insulation resistance of the oil will be reduced. The insulation resistance of the aging oil will be affected by a series of oxides due to the production of a series of oxide in the oil. The deeper the oil is, the greater the influence.
