Matters needing attention in determining moisture in filter oil of oil filter by Coulomb method

When using the Coulomb method to measure the water content of the oil filter, we should pay attention to the following matters.

(1) the determination of water by Coulomb method is the key to the preparation of k's reagent and the proportion of the electrolyte to be carried out strictly according to the regulations. The proportion of various components can not be easily altered, otherwise the sensitivity of the detection will be affected or the end point is unstable and the pointer drifts. The electrolyte should be kept in a dry dark place, and the temperature should not be higher than 20C.. As long as it is kept properly, the validity period of the electrolyte can reach more than six months.
(2) the speed of stirring has an impact on the test results. Too fast and too slow will affect the stability of the data. It is usually best to make the electrolyte a whirlpool. After the use of plastic pipe sleeve iron wire, the two ends of the heat seal is not ideal, such as the long time the plastic seal end is damaged, the electrolyte will penetrate into the plastic pipe and wire contact with the wire to produce rust, which will cause the test data to appear high and low. It is better to use the polytetrafluoroethylene powder to wrap the iron wire and use it after hot pressing.
(3) when the electrolyte prepared by the determination method reaches a certain quantity, the positive electrolyte will become cloudy, but it will not affect the test results. If the sample is further applied, the standard sample should be calibrated, and then the sample can be determined continuously. Otherwise, the electrolyte can be replaced.
(4) when measuring moisture content in the oil, attention should be paid to the tightness of the electrolyte and the sample. During the test, the moisture in the atmosphere should not be allowed to enter the sample. Therefore, when the oil sample is taken from the equipment, the medical syringe should be used for sampling according to the same requirements as chromatographic analysis, and should be kept away from light.
(5) in the process of determination, the end point sometimes occurs, most of which are caused by the itching in the air and the oxidation of iodine in the electrolyte, which is equivalent to the iodine produced in the electrolysis, resulting in the low result of the determination. This obvious alkaloid, which is related to light exposure, can turn the electrolytic cell into brown glass or black paper on the outer cover of the electrolytic cell, which can improve this phenomenon. When the cathode chamber has black precipitation, the electrode can be removed and used for cleaning with glue. (6) the test instrument is best equipped with a voltage stabilizer, which is placed in a small noise and avoids the environment with magnetic interference as much as possible so as not to affect the stability of the instrument. (7) the electrolyte formula of the determination method is only suitable for the determination of trace moisture in mineral oil, steam turbine oil and other oil products. For the determination of water in silicon oil and fluorocarbon oil, the electrolyte formula should be adjusted to use.
